Knightshayes Court built for the grandson of John Heathcoat and designed by William Burges, now belongs to the National Trust.

Traces of a Roman fort were found nearby.

You do not need to be a member to do both delightful walks.
Restaurant and house are closed between November and April - see NT website for opening hours.

Walk 1 Bolham & Knightshayes (3.6 miles)

Difficulty

This very pleasant but somewhat strenuous country walk combines the Knighthayes estate with Bolham.

It follows quiet lanes and public & permissive footpaths.

Note:

When walking near Cricket Ground, path becomes unclear but keep right and walk towards enge of wood ; you will join a clearly marked path leading towards a small gate - see picture.
