This very pleasant walk follows mainly permissive paths or tracks - some have been opened only recently!
Brief desrciption of walk:A From entrance to Killerton (car park) cross the lane to a gate .Follow path into an orchard; this curves right to another gate.
Head left to join footpath to Killerton post office.
B Continue along lane until just after the Motorway bridge. Turn left onto some steps leading to a permissive path.
C Follow path and keep right of house.
Cross main road onto a track. Then soon turn right onto another path which runs parallel to the track.
Where it joins another track turn right. After 180m turn left through kissing gate, just before entrance to a house .Continue along path ,through an orchard - walk diagonally right to a kissing gate then continue though woodlands
D Turn left at a junction onto a track , through gate.Head in south easterly direction to another gate then in a north easterly direction towards Ashclyst forest - this permissive path through fields is not not clearly defined.
E At the gate turn left into Ashclyst Forest following the blue trail. From here all paths are well maintained.
Head north until you reach a lane. Turn left and continue along this lane until it joins the main Exeter to Cullumpton Road. Cross carefully into Budlake At a junction turn left.
F After a small residential area turn right and follow a permissive path which skirts and , in the end , crosses the motorway. Walk straight ahead onto a path which eventually leads you to a lane. A Roman fort has been discovered left of the woods.
G Turn right at the lane then left onto a track taking you back to Killerton.
