If you are creating maps for yourself , it often seems very tedious to get your gpsdevice to route to your home !
You generally have to select the nearest POI which hardly ever is located near your home.
The trick is to use your address and turn it into a place
- Use the -housenumbers option
- addr:housenumber and addr:street
- you can also use: addr:housename
- place code in Points BEFORE place = etc
- In Basecamp you should see a label Home next to your house
- Upload map and search for Home in Cities or Towns etc

Tip:
If you cannot find how the address is worded,download a small area from openstreetmap and use
