Combe Martin, a village in North Devon , is built along a long combe narrowing down to a small harbour and a sandy beach.

Silver,lead and iron was mined nearby.

This popular but quite strenuous walk starts from Combe Martin's Car Park and follows public footpaths and quiet lanes, all with interesting names, Water Lane,Corner lane,Girt Lane and Shute Lane.

The initial stretch is a steady climb to Great Hangman which marks the highest point of the South West Coast path - the origin of the name 'Hangman'.is uncertain.
From here follow the coastal path with extensive views of of Wales and Lundy Island.

 Similar to the first walk but shorter and avoids the steep climbs to Little & Great Hangman.
There is one steady climb and descent.
