Cockington
 

Two pleasant walks through this most charming village, known for its tea shops, craft centre and Drum Inn,designed by Lutyens.

Not surprisingly, Agatha Christie was a frequent visitor.

Both walks pass the thatched Gamekeeper's Cottage.

Walk 1

Walk 1 Village & Park (1.4 miles) Time:40 mins

A short and easy walk around Cockington.
A From the car park near the old school house,turn right up Cockington Lane.

B After 175m turn left onto a footpath through the woods then into an open space. Continue for 420m.

C Turn left onto a footpath and join the John Musgrave Heritage Trail.
D Follow this trail until it branches left .
Instead, continue along the path which skirts Church Wood.
E After two gates turn left into Totnes Road then turn right onto a track to an old barn (Warren Barn) .Here, turn left and follow the John Musgrave Trail to the Game Keeper's Lodge and back to Cockington.
