Passage House Inn Walks walking along the Teign estuary

The present Passage House Inn can be traced back to the 18th century.

In the not too distant past the Teign could be crossed on foot near the Passage House Inn. However, the 'passage' was only safe during a low tide, hence the existence of a hostelry dating back to Roman times.

Passage House Inn

A delightful walk which can be done any time of the year as the paths are well drained.
It combines the old part of the village/town with the Hackney Marshes, Newton Abbot Race Course, the Teign Estuary.and of course the Passage House Inn.
The Hackney Marshes have recently been declared a local nature reserve - information boards refer to it as a wetland wildlife haven!
