Walk 1 Exeter Cathedral to Ship Canal (2.3 miles)

Exeter Canal

Difficulty:

Many visitors to Exeter may find it difficult to find it's Quay as it is rather off the beaten track!

However, this very pleasant walk will guide you to the Quay and ship canal , via the famous St Mary Steps which used to be the only direct link from the city to its West Gate.

The route includes 2 suspension bridges, a lock and a boatyard.

You are guaranteed to see swans.
