This is an invigorating but delightful and most rewarding 6 mile linear route avoiding busy roads and following quiet green lanes and public footpaths or bridlepaths.
The views of Exe estuary are quite breathtaking.
It climbs up past Pinhoe church to Beacon Hill and the site where in 1001 the Vikings fought the English.
It follows ancient tracks and newly created paths to the top of Mincinglake Valley Park, near where , not surprisingly, the Romans manned a signal station - the views of the mouth of the Exe (& Exmouth) are quite stunning!

Continue downhill to join the Exeter Green Circle , a popular trail around Exeter.

Descend to the university then follow the Two Counties Way and branch off towards Exeter Cathedral..
Some of the tracks can be quite muddy after heavy rain.
There are several ways of doing this:
1) From Pinhoe to Exeter, and take the F2 or B bus back.
2) From Exeter to Pinhoe, taking the bus back.

Pinhoe to River Clyst Circular Walk

Pinhoe to Sowton Village & Redhayes Bridge Circular Walk
