Pinhoe , a village on the Pin Brook or a settlement on the hill (hoe) offers the walker many stunning views of the estuary, East Hill near Ottery St Mary or the Blackdown Hills beyond Cullompton and Honiton.

This walk takes you along the Pin Brook,past the old Brick Factory,along what used to be a quarry , climbing steadily to Pinhoe Church (14/15th Century).

From you can enjoy stunning views of the Exe Estuary.
In 1001, slightly further up , the Battle of Pinhoe was fought between the Saxons and the Vikings.
The Saxons fought bravely but ran out of ammunition and retreated to the safety of Exeter's city walls ; the Vikings took revenge and plundered Pinhoe!
