The walk passess Knightstone, a private Manor, built by Thomas de Bittlesgate in 1380 and one of the best preserved medieval houses in Britain. You can sneak a glimpse of the house and gardens before negotiating the ford.
The walk cane be quite muddy after heavy rain ; it has a steep climb and descent. The views at the top are quite spectacular.
