North Bovey

North Bovey is one of the most idyllic villages in Devon. It is quite isolated and , perhaps because of this, the village has retained its original charm.

Access is tricky, following narrow lanes. However , the walk can also start at Moretonhampstead.

The village has a free carpark and a delightful pub ,the Ring of Bells

The walk
This most varied circular walk includes a long & narrow stone bridge, stepping stones (which can be bypassed), & magnificent views of Dartmoor
There are several steady climbs and one steep descent. Much of the landscape assumes the appearance of an estate/park created by the second Viscount Hambleden.

The walk follows part of the Dartmoor Way and if you are in the area twe highly recommend this walk

There is one steep climb.
